The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland, in conjunction with Dublin Institute of Technology runs two part-time courses for people working in property who wish to attain an internationally recognised qualification.
- SCSI/DIT ‘Higher Certificate in Property Studies’ (Level 6)
- SCSI/DIT BSc(Hons) in Property Studies (Level 8).
Both courses are part-time and are presented on Saturdays (roughly every second Saturday during term-time) from 10.00am to 5.00pm at the Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street. Students on the courses must be working full-time in property related employment, which is much more broadly defined than estate agency and auctioneering.
The honours degree is recognised as providing the academic basis for application for membership of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and consequently the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The fee for both courses is €2,950 per year and is eligible for income tax relief at the standard rate.
