This CPD is for Chartered Surveyors of all disciplines as Val will speak about Dilapidations from the builders' perspective and how projects on buildings will be impacted.
For those unfamiliar with the term “dilapidations”, it refers to the condition of the commercial property during and at the end of the lease. To ensure that the property remains in good condition, the landlord serves a Schedule of Dilapidations on the tenant outlining the disrepair and remedial works needed.
Val O'Brien: set up the practice in 1997. Prior to this Val was the manager of the building surveying department in Lisney and worked in the UK for a leading firm of Chartered Building Surveyors. Val qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1989 and has 27 years post qualification experience. Val is the longest serving building surveyor member in the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland. He is an active member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and is a past chairman of the building surveying division.
