  • We are delighted to announce that our Annual Rural Seminar will once again be taking place in November. 

    At last year's Seminar we looked at the issues and opportunities facing the sector in relation to the Brexit referendum in the UK. 

    This year, we will examine the developments and discussions over the past year and the related impact on the rural surveying sector in Ireland. 

    Our line-up of speakers so far includes:

    Justin McCarthy, CEO, Irish Farmers Journal, who will deliver an outlook for the rural industry. 

    Mairead McGuinness MEP, First Vice-President of the European Parliament, will deliver a Brexit update from an EU perspective as well as the CAP programme developments and next steps. 

    Paddy Darmody, Regulatory Valuer, SCSI, will deliver an introduction to the upcoming Red Book audits with particular focus on compliance and the areas that you should focus your attention. Paddy will also deliver a short update on Valuer Registration Scheme (VRS) and what you need to know in order to become registered. 

    Jim Power, Economist, will discuss the economic outlook for Ireland.

    Jim Doyle, Senior Partner, RDA Accountants will deliver an update on taxation, pensions and wealth management. 

    Karen Twomey, PR & Communications Consultant, Communications Hub, will deliver a session on social media and brand promotion for the rural agency. She will look at areas including; an overview and benefits of social media usage, identifying and using the right platforms for the right audience, content writing and identifying and contributing to local media opportunities.
