Pitched at ‘awareness level’, this session is primarily aimed towards Chartered Project Management Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors and would be a refresher for Chartered and Registered Building Surveyors. It would also be relevant to Chartered Surveyors involved in Property Management where new or significant renovation work is part of their general work activities.

The BCAR regulation S.I.9 Building Control (Amendment) Regulations has been in effect for the past three years since 2014.
This session will cover:
- An overview of the duties of the main project parties and the impact of the regulatory framework on successful project completion.
- Address the role and interaction of the project parties focusing on the Project Manager and the role and interest of clients in relation to statutory duties and compliance issues.
- Among the issues addressed will be the notification process, caveats to be aware of and the need to monitor and report on the inspection plan and progress of the project and the documentation control required to achieve a successful project.
- Look at the aspects such as ancillary certification and the statutory certification of completion and registration.
