About the Group
Welcome to the homepage of the Planning and Development Surveyors Professional Group.
Planning and Development Surveyors are professionals involved in a broad variety of work including assessment of land and property use requirements and development, regeneration appraisal and related planning implementation processes in the public and private sector.
Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland Professional Groups are responsible for setting the strategic direction for the future of their specialisms and for identifying and serving the information needs of their members.
The purpose of the Planning and Development professional group is to:
define and seek to maintain high standards of practice and competence in the practice of Planning and Development surveying
recommend routes to attaining professional competence;
publish the requirements for competency in Planning and Development surveying, including any necessary qualification or experience, once approved by the Standing Committee on Education;
provide and promote training and development opportunities, and publishing information relevant to Planning and Development surveying; take action with regards to and be responsible for matters which affect solely the Planning and Development Surveying Professional Group.
