About the Group
The Residential Professional Group is one of the newest and largest professional groups within the Society.
Its members operate in all areas of residential property practice and provide professional expertise in relation to the sales, valuation and letting of residential property.
Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland Professional Groups are responsible for setting the strategic direction for the future of their specialisms and for identifying and serving the information needs of their members.
The purpose of the Residential Professional Group is to:
define and seek to maintain high standards of practice and competence in the practice of residential surveying
recommend routes to attaining professional competence;
publish the requirements for competency in Residential Property surveying, including any necessary qualification or experience, once approved by the Standing Committee on Education;
provide and promote training and development opportunities, and publishing information relevant to Residential Property surveying;
take action with regards to and be responsible for matters which affect solely the Residential Property Professional Group;
delegate work to sub committees or working parties of members and non-members as it considers appropriate;
nominate members to represent the Professional Group on both national and international bodies/organisations, as appropriate, where relevant to Residential Property surveying;
